The dark side has forsaken me

My iPod arrived last Monday and my iMac promptly took a dump. It will now only stay on for a maximum of 20 minutes.

I called Apple tech support and they had me crack it open and reset the PMU (Power Management Unit), which turned out to be no help. The idiots at the Apple store were also no help. I took it in and they said that nothing was wrong and that it ran just fine. They suggested that it was an issue with my battery backup and I should try plugging it directly into the wall or try a different outlet. Still dies. I even went so far as making a trip to Fry's to get a brand new $60 battery backup.

After a second call to Apple tech support, we convinced them to send me out a replacement logic board. It should be arriving on Tuesday. Hopefully that will fix it.

The dark side has forsaken me. Fuckers.

Luke, I am your father...

I am heading deeper and deeper into the dark side. I just bought an iPod. I went with the 20 gig one. I also ordered a nifty little skin to protect it. It's purple and glows in the dark.

My database class has been going good. I have my midterm this week. Hopefully it will still be going good after that. I am thinking about making databases my concentration for my degree. It could be fun and it could get me a cool job.

I've had a lot on my mind lately and I feel a (slightly more) profound post brewing instead of the usual drivel I post on this thing. After I sort through some stuff I might have to write it down. We'll see.

Whatever

I am so glad that November 2 has come and gone. I did what I could. I went to my polling place to cast my vote.

Halloween this year really sucked. The only thing I did was go to my company's lame party. The only cool thing about it is the prizes you can win, but since I didn't win anything, it was a waste. I should have just gone home to sleep after my night shift.

I did throw together a pretty clever costume at the last minute. I was 'cat5' (as in category 5 unsheilded twisted pair wire - aka ethernet cable). I made cat ears, a tail and a collar out of some orange cable and dressed in all black. Not too bad for last minute.
